The BioFishency system represents an innovative way to grow fish in Recirculating Aquaculture Systems (RASs). This new system overcomes many of the disadvantages associated with traditional recirculating systems, resulting in a better and more efficient product.

BioFishency utilizes an electrochemical process to oxidize ammonia directly to N2(g) as compared to the two-step biological process.

Transportation
Transporting live fish often leads to significant losses due to the lack of technology for removing ammonia (during transport), which makes this a potential target for BioFishency.

The system has applications for ornamental fish farming, for quarantine systems and in research.
